In a bold move aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent in Malamulele, PSL outfit Gomora United have partnered with the Collins Chabane Local Municipality to create meaningful opportunities for young footballers in the area.
The club, which competes in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, have recently relocated their home matches to Malamulele Stadium, although originally based in Alexandra, Gauteng.
In a statement shared with this publication, the club confirmed its collaboration with the municipality, outlining plans to invest in local structures and provide a clear pathway for aspiring players to rise through the ranks.
"Gomora United Football Club has entered into a strategic partnership with SAFA Collins Chabane Local Football Association (LFA) to strengthen professional football, grassroots development, and economic participation within Collins Chabane Municipality.
"As part of the partnership, Gomora United FC will play all remaining Motsepe Foundation Championship home fixtures at Malamulele Stadium, with a clear ambition to establish the venue as a fortress and house of pain for visiting teams. The club has further confirmed its intention to make Malamulele Stadium its permanent home for the 2026/2027 season.

"SAFA Collins Chabane LFA comprises 69 senior teams and over 30 Under-13 and Under-17 development teams, reflecting the depth of football talent in the municipality. Current LFA log leaders are Xikundu Mountain Bombers (Stream A), Peningotse Young Stars (Stream B), Majomela (Stream C), and Hosana Santos (Stream D).
"Through this partnership, Gomora United’s technical and scouting team will attend LFA matches to identify elite local talent and create a structured pathway into the Motsepe Foundation Championship. An end-of-season LFA tournament will also be introduced to further showcase emerging players.
"Beyond the field, Gomora United FC will deliver monthly professional workshops for LFA team managers focused on administration, governance, marketing, branding, and commercial growth.
Recognising football as a driver of economic development, local businesses, SMMEs, and corporate partners are formally invited to be part of this initiative through sponsorship, match-day activations, branding, hospitality, and community programmes.
"Speaking on the partnership, Gomora United FC Management said:
“This partnership is about building a dominant football institution rooted in Collins Chabane. Malamulele Stadium must be feared by opponents, respected nationally, and supported by strong community and business participation.
"This partnership signals a long-term commitment to football excellence, talent development, professional governance, and inclusive economic growth within Collins Chabane Municipality."
