Gomora United Football Club visited Malamulele Secondary School and the Malamulele campus of Vhembe TVET College on Friday as part of a community mobilisation campaign ahead of their Motsepe Foundation Championship match against Upington City this weekend.
The visit forms part of the club’s efforts to strengthen ties with communities in the Collins Chabane Municipality while encouraging young people to pursue both education and sport. Players and club representatives interacted with learners and students, sharing messages about discipline, perseverance and the importance of education alongside sporting ambition.
The team also encouraged young people to believe that success can come from humble beginnings, stressing that talent from villages and townships can reach professional levels through hard work and determination.
Learners and students welcomed the players with excitement and showed strong support for the team ahead of Saturday’s match. The club also urged community members to come out in numbers to support the team, saying football continues to unite and inspire people across the region.
Gomora United said the school and campus visits form part of its broader vision to build stronger links between football and community development while inspiring the youth of Limpopo. The team will face Upington City in a Motsepe Foundation Championship match this weekend.
