A 20-year-old woman has gone missing in Hlanganani, Mopani District, after she reportedly disappeared in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Murwa Mohawu, from Lebowakgomo’s Hweleshaneng village along the R37, was last seen at a home in Olifantshoek village where she had been visiting a traditional healer.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Monatse Mamabolo, Mohawu went to sleep at about 03:00. But by around 05:00, she was nowhere to be found.
Police have since launched a search operation.
Mamabolo said the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear. It is believed Mohawu may be mentally unstable, raising concern for her safety.
At the time she went missing, she was wearing a red skirt, red T-shirt and black shoes. She is described as slightly built with a light complexion.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen her or has information about her whereabouts to come forward.
