The platform was created by Eddie Ramabu, a young entrepreneur. He said he noticed that many restaurants only provide a basic menu. “Customers miss out on specials, events, and popular items. I wanted to give diners better visibility and give restaurants a platform to show their full experience,” he said.
Menuflixer lets customers view menus with pictures, see daily specials, discover popular or new items, and get announcements from the restaurant.
The platform also helps restaurants with marketing. A media team visits restaurants to create photos, videos, and interviews with staff. They share this content on social media to attract more customers.
Menuflixer introduced the Flixers Note, a discount card for diners to encourage them to return. Restaurants such as Ramedi Café and Masai Lodge have used the platform to reach more customers and boost engagement.
Ramabu said starting the business was not easy. “I was scammed by a development team at first. It was discouraging, but I wanted to contribute to meaningful change in the hospitality industry,” he said.
He advises other entrepreneurs to start small and focus on execution. “Build something, test it, improve it, and network. Investors fund proof and traction more than ideas,” he said.
In the next five years, Menuflixer plans to expand across Africa. The platform aims to help restaurants increase sales, retain customers, and modernise communication.
