Hirsch’s recently turned up the heat at its Hirsch’s Centurion store, hosting a lively Influencer Cook-Off in partnership with Philips as part of the much-anticipated Love is in the Airfryer competition.

The in-store event brought together popular influencer pairs for a playful culinary showdown celebrating both Galentine’s and Valentine’s, transforming the retail space into a buzzing kitchen filled with friendly rivalry.

Adding professional flair to the experience was celebrity chef Kabelo Mabena, who guided the teams throughout the challenge.

Chef Kabelo showcased the versatility and efficiency of the Philips Airfryer while sharing expert tips that helped elevate each dish. His hands-on approach ensured a balance between fun and culinary finesse, inspiring participants to push their creativity.

Competing on the day were influencer duo Trydah and Thato, representing the spirit of Galentine’s, alongside Vuka and Tshepi, who embraced the romance of Valentine’s.

Each pair demonstrated their chemistry in the kitchen, preparing flavour-packed meals using the Philips Airfryer and proving that great cooking can be both effortless and entertaining.

The event was supported by several partners who helped bring the experience to life. Kasiwave Media House captured behind-the-scenes moments and created engaging digital content, while Chef Gear supplied professional aprons and chef jackets, adding a polished touch to the competition.

Sunita Khan, Public Relations Officer at Hirsch’s, said the cook-off stood out among the retailer’s many influencer collaborations.

“This was such a fun experience. We’ve hosted many influencer events before, but this one was truly one for the books. Not only did influencers come together in a unique and creative way, but it created a fun, vibrant and highly engaging environment just like all our influencer events aim to do.”
