After severe storm damage left schools in Capricorn North unsafe, Limpopo MEC for Education Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya visited Mashianoke Primary and Botsikana Secondary in Mashashane village on Thursday 12 February to inspect refurbished facilities.
Mashianoke Primary, which has 253 learners, received two new classroom blocks and renovations to older buildings. The school recently secured first place nationally in the National School Nutrition Programme.
Botsikana Secondary, with 324 learners, got six fully furnished classroom blocks and upgraded sanitation facilities. During her visit, the MEC spoke directly to Grade 12 learners, urging them to stay disciplined, focus on studying, and avoid distractions as they prepare for the National Senior Certificate exams.
“The Department is committed to ensuring safe learning environments, but learners must also make full use of these facilities to succeed,” Lerule-Ramakhanya said.
