The claims began circulating on social media on Thursday morning, causing concern among fans and the entertainment community. Fellow actor Gabriel Temudzani confirmed that Sebe is alive and in good health.
“Mr David Sebe (Gizzar) is very much alive and in good spirits. The rumours aren’t true. He is well, smiling, and grateful for the love. Please share the facts, not the noise,” said Temudzani. Sebe is best known for his role as Vho-Gizara Mukwevho in the SABC2 soapie Muvhango.

He is a veteran actor from Limpopo and has been part of the show for many years. He has also worked in theatre and television and is known for playing strong traditional leadership roles. On social media, some users questioned the response. One Facebook user, Rofhie Dj-Qte, asked how the public could be sure without hearing directly from Sebe.
Temudzani responded: “Chill with your entitlement. He owes you no explanation.” Another user, Gandanga Makoya, said he had advised some content creators on Facebook to refrain from spreading false information, warning that defamation lawsuits could be instituted against them. “They are too forward, these content creators. We thank Temudzani for clearing the false news to the society,” he said.
