Saneliso Thusi, 23, a young entrepreneur living with a disability, has launched his poultry farming business, SineThusi, with support from the NYDA through its uMkhanyakude District Centre in northern KwaZulu‑Natal. The enterprise supplies both live and slaughtered chickens, bringing fresh produce to local communities.

The grant enabled Saneliso to secure essential equipment and stock, laying the foundation for a sustainable business. “Start small, stay resilient, manage your finances wisely, and embrace failure as a learning step,” he said, reflecting on the lessons that guide his enterprise.

As a young disabled entrepreneur, Saneliso is proving that determination and courage can turn dreams into reality. He discovered the NYDA through word-of-mouth, a moment that transformed his journey. Despite the challenges of running a growing business, Saneliso is focused on expanding production and reaching wider markets.
